We are seeking motivated individuals to join our team as Assembly Line / Shipping & Receiving Workers at our manufacturing plant in Barrie, Ontario for our afternoon shift.

Reporting to the Afternoon Shift Manager, these workers will assemble insulated garage door panels, prepare them for packing, and stock finished product in shipping.

JOB SUMMARY:

  • Starting date: June
  • Job Type: Full‑time, Permanent
  • Compensation: Probationary rate of $ 19.85/hr. Plus afternoon shift premium. Plus weekly production bonus after 2 weeks
  • Training: Must be available for day shift for first few weeks (7:30 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday to Friday)
  • Regular Hours of Work: 40 h work week, from 4:10 PM to 2:40 AM, Monday to Thursday
  • Garaga manufacturing plant: Barrie, ON

ROLES & RESPONSABILITIES:

  • Assemble garage door panel pieces
  • Loading of carts to transfer assembled panels to next workstation
  • Injection of thermal insulated foam
  • Cut out and install of window panels
  • Attachment of weather‑stripping and hardware
  • Packing of finished panels using cardboard packing machine
  • Transfer packaged product to proper inventory spot in shipping
  • Pick inventory according to customer orders and load onto trucks
  • Scan product on and off of trucks
  • Unload trucks and place in proper receiving slots

COMPETENCY PROFILE:

  • Work experience in manufacturing, shipping & receiving or relevant industry
  • Forklift, pallet trucks, overhead crane & injection experience an asset
  • Know how to use hand & power tools
  • Able to follow verbal or written work methods
  • Work in a safe manner and follow safety procedures
  • Able to stand & walk for long periods of time
  • Able to lift product up to 50 lbs on a frequent basis

EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION:

  • Manufacturing Work: 1‑2 years experience in assembly and shipping preferred
  • Working knowledge of using hand tools, forklift, overhead crane: Asset
  • Must have own reliable transportation to and from work as there is no public transportation available for this shift
  • Highschool diploma (Required)
  • Post secondary diploma in relevant field of studies (Asset)
