We’re looking for a Licensed Millwright for our plant in Barrie, ON.

You will play a key role in supporting production, leading maintenance programs, and contributing to design projects in a manufacturing environment. This role involves troubleshooting, machine assembly, and collaboration with engineering teams. You will have a 433A industrial mechanic license, manufacturing environment experience and welding background.

JOB SUMMARY:

  • Starting date: As soon as possible
  • Number of positions to fill: 1
  • Employment Type: Full-time, Permanent
  • Location: 333 Bayview Drive, Barrie, ON.
  • Salary: $40.50/hr + $1.50/hr Maintenance premium
  • Work Schedule: 6:30am to 4:30pm (Monday to Friday)

Role and responsibilities of the Licensed Millwright:

First priority; Production team support

  • Ensuring all safety devices meeting regulations and are documented.
  • Ensure all equipment are achieving 95% availability.

Design project

  • Participate in design projects with a mechanical influence and makes recommendations to the concepts and process development of new machinery.
  • Participate in the assembly challenges for new equipment designs.
  • Responsible for assembly of designs using specified drawings from Engineering Team, coordinates with contractors for assistance on building technical pieces.
  • Source out required parts and products for assembly of designs.
  • Act as main point of contact for commissioning of new machines to production including follow through on testing and resolving bugs during final roll-out.

Maintenance

  • Develop and improve Preventative Maintenance programs for new/old processes and equipment, use CMMs software for data tracking.
  • Ensures machines are being maintained and regularly tested to improve their longevity and efficiency.
  • Assists with maintenance tasks as necessary.
  • Finds solutions to current processes that will enable higher production and lower downtime.

Engineering

  • Work with Engineering team to design and develop machines for other plants.
  • Ensures that new products can be mimicked across plants.
  • Act as main in-house programmer for Robot Cell, attend relevant trainings to stay current.

Troubleshooting

  • Troubleshooting and root cause analysis to find solutions and assist maintenance with mechanical breakdowns that require higher expertise.
  • Troubleshoot and maintain hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
  • Any other duties as may be assigned as per the Collective Agreement Article 4.01 (b).

Required qualifications for our Licensed Millwright:

  • 433A Certified Millwright Industrial Mechanic License.
  • Minimum 5 years post apprenticeship as Industrial Maintenance Mechanic in a manufacturing environment.
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in TIG, Stick, and MIG Welding.
  • College Diploma from a technical program in industrial maintenance, electrical or mechanical technology an asset.
  • Exposure with mechanical devices, pneumatic controls and welding/cutting an asset.
