We’re looking for an Industrial Millwright for our plant in Barrie, ON. You will play a key role in supporting production and leading maintenance programs in our Maintenance Team. This role involves installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and automated systems.

JOB SUMMARY:

  • Starting date: As soon as possible
  • Number of positions to fill: 1
  • Employment Type: Full-time, Permanent
  • Location: 333 Bayview Drive, Barrie, ON.
  • Work Schedule: Day Shift - Occasional overtime and weekend work
  • Work conditions: Physical demands include standing, lifting, and working in confined spaces

 Role and responsibilities of the Industrial Millwright:

  • Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on:
    • Stamping presses
    • Polyurethane foam injection systems
    • Conveyor systems
    • Torsion spring manufacturing equipment
  • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical components including:
    • Hydraulic and pneumatic systems
    • Gearboxes, bearings, chains, and belts
  • Work with PLC-controlled equipment and HMI interfaces to diagnose and resolve automation issues
  • Collaborate with engineering and production teams to improve equipment reliability and up time
  • Read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and manuals
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and parts usage
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies
  • Ensure Line 1 starts up every day at 6:30 am
  • Support the Chemical delivery upload when required

Required qualifications for our Industrial Millwright:

  • Valid Millwright (433A) Certificate of Qualification in Ontario through the Apprenticeship program
  • Minimum 3rd year Apprentice working towards (433A) Certificate with experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, and automation
  • Experience with PLCs and HMIs (Allen-Bradley preferred)
  • Forklift/Overhead crane/Elevated work platform experience
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-volume production environment

Preferred Assets:

  • Experience in garage doors or similar manufacturing industries
  • Familiarity with forming equipment
  • Precision layout/drilling/tapping/milling/assembly/fabrication
  • Basic electrical troubleshooting skills
