In order to support our growth, we are currently seeking a HR Assistant and Safety Coordinator for our Ponca City Operations, based in Oklahoma. In this key role, you will be responsible for coordinating key HR & Safety initiatives and activities.

Job summary:

  • Starting date: As soon as possible
  • Job Type: Full‑time, Permanent
  • Regular Hours of Work: 40 hrs/week, Monday to Friday

  • Garaga’s Mid‑America manufacturing plant: Ponca City, OK

Responsabilities

From a Human Resources standpoint:

  • Define hiring and recruiting processes for production team members
  • Handle employees’ onboarding & orientation
  • Maintain employees’ files
  • Provide daily attendance reports and keep record of all attendance
  • Respond to all unemployment claims and employment verifications
  • Assist with month end reports
  • Help with day-to-day office management

From a Safety Coordination standpoint:

  • Maintain safety and health plans in the workplace (PPE Machine)
  • Monitor and maintain policies to establish a safe work culture (Safety Handbook)
  • Assess risk and adherence to OSHA regulations
  • Monitor compliance to OSHA regulations (OSHA 300)
  • Bring awareness and ensure Health and safety trainings
  • Handle OSHA Audits
  • Investigate accidents and incidents, also document electronic and paper forms
  • Handle workers’ compensation claims
  • Recommend solutions to issues, improvement opportunities and new prevention measures

The team player we are looking for:

  • Degree in Human Resources or equivalent combination of work experience
  • 3 years of experience in Human Resources or Safety coordination
  • Collaborative mindset that values strong performance and accountability
  • Demonstrated drive for continuous improvement
  • Strong English written and verbal communication skills
  • Comfortable within a manufacturing environment, able to tour a large production facility
