We are looking for a Purchasing Coordinator who wants to be part of a growing Canadian manufacturing company in Barrie, ON.

Reporting to the Purchasing & Supply Manager, the Purchasing Coordinator will be accountable for accurate and efficient purchasing and inventory of materials for the production facility including sourcing, quality audits and cycle counting.

As a Purchasing Coordinator, you will:

  • Be responsible for ensuring the accuracy of the inventory of materials required for production.
  • Issue purchase orders to replenish materials required for production.
  • Perform regular cycle counts of the inventory of materials required for production to ensure the integrity of the inventory database.
  • Receive incoming materials in the inventory database.
  • Participate in the quality inspections of incoming materials and escalate cases of non-conforming materials.
  • Gather performance indicators for suppliers and inventory accuracy.
  • Participate in sourcing of materials and coordinates with current vendors.
  • Works with receivers in the plant including managing the loading and unloading of trailers for the plant.
  • Maintains system database for materials, inventory, and purchase orders.
  • Manages inventory and movement of material from offsite warehouse.
  • Coordinate on materials for new projects.
  • Ensure system transactions are maintained accurately.
  • Assist with sourcing new suppliers and products.
  • Creating a product database for the new line by using the in-house ERP system as well as making strategic decisions regarding vendors.
  • Managing Bill of Materials and initial orders.
  • Ability to problem solve inventory space constraints and see ways to ensure efficiency and access to materials when needed.

What we are looking for in our Purchasing Coordinator:

  • Post-secondary education in business operations, logistics, or related field preferred.
  • 0-2 years’ experience in a purchasing and/or inventory control role.
  • Strong data management skills with MS Office and other systems.
  • Experience using RF scanners, ERP systems.
  • Supply Chain Management certificate: An asset.
