We are looking for a Purchasing Coordinator who wants to be part of a growing Canadian manufacturing company in Barrie, ON.

Reporting to the Purchasing & Supply Manager, the Purchasing Coordinator will be accountable for accurate and efficient purchasing and inventory of materials for the production facility including sourcing, quality audits and cycle counting.

  • Day shift: 7 AM to 3:30 PM

As a Purchasing Coordinator, you will:

  • Responsible to ensure the accuracy of the inventory of materials required for production.
  • Issue purchase orders to replenish consumable materials required for production.
  • Perform regular cycle counts of the inventory of materials required for production.
  • Receive incoming materials in the inventory data base.
  • Participate in the quality inspections of incoming materials and escalate cases of non-conforming materials.
  • Be at shipping dock to verify material and work with receivers in the plant to coordinate the loading and unloading of trailers.
  • Liaise with receiving team and forklift drivers to confirm deliveries per manifest.
  • Gather performance indicators for suppliers and inventory accuracy.
  • Ensure system transactions are maintained accurately.
  • Liaise with other Garaga facilities to coordinate material movement.
  • Enter Garaga purchasing system receipts of material.
  • Maintains system database for materials, inventory, and purchase orders.
  • Work with finance to close payable issues.
  • Daily / weekly / monthly / yearly inventory adjustments.
  • Coordinate factory product movement for overall manufacturing efficiency.
  • Prepare ‘in advance of receipt’ documents as required.
  • Work with other departments on projects and activities.

What we are looking for in our Purchasing Coordinator:

  • Post-secondary education in business operations, logistics, or related field preferred.
  • 0-2 years’ experience in a purchasing and/or inventory control role.
  • Strong data management skills with MS Office and other systems.
  • Experience using RF scanners, ERP systems.
  • Supply Chain Management certificate: An asset.
