Reporting to the General Manager, the candidate will provide Human Resources services and advice to the Barrie operation team. He/she will be responsible for all activities and initiatives related to recruiting, on‑boarding, orientation and training of the employees, labour relations, health & safety as well as performance and attendance management.

  • Provide support and information on the programs and policies for the production staff in compliance with the policies, procedures and collective agreements in place
  • Provide support and information on the programs and policies for the office staff of the Ontario operations
  • Provide labour relations support and advice to the Production Management team of the Barrie operation
  • Oversee the proper application of the collective agreement provisions and contribute to maintaining healthy labour relations with the production staff
  • Provide support in regard to the implementation and continuous follow-up on the health & safety programs including procedures, corrective actions and health & safety events
  • Coordination and participation to the Joint Occupational Health & Safety Committee as well as workplace inspections, investigations and incidents reviews
  • Work closely with the production support team to maintain a safe workplace for all and insure workers awareness of health & safety
  • Participate in the recruiting activities of the production and office employees of the Ontario operations
  • Participate in the on-boarding and orientation of the Barrie operation new employees
  • Identification, implementation and follow-up of the training activities of the production staff
  • Provide accurate information related to the benefits plan to the employees
  • Prepare the weekly payroll and maintain proper and well documented employee files
  • Perform health & safety audits


  • Capacity to do field or shop floor observations, gather and analyze data
  • Demonstrated aptitude for team work, leadership, autonomy and initiative
  • Sense of urgency and problem solving
  • Excellent communication skills at all levels
  • Continuously searching for best practices and continuous improvement


  • Bachelor degree in Industrial Relations or in Human Resources or a certification related to the Human Resources field with equivalent experience
  • Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience
  • Intermediate to advanced computer skills (Microsoft Office suite)
  • Oral and written mastery of English (French is an asset)
  • Member of a recognized professional order related to Human Resources (asset)
