Reporting to the Vice President of Finance, you will be responsible for all activities leading to the proper management of receivables and payables, maintaining systems and procedures as well as a strong control environment to support operations.

You will be the first person to hold this new position created to support a team of 15+ resources dedicated to centralized functions in a multi-company environment.

Primary responsibilities of the Team Leader - Accounts Payable and Receivable:

  • Lead and supervise a team of 15 technicians and accounts payable and receivable clerks and coordinate the daily activities of the team.
  • Ensure the smooth operation of the accounts payable department and improve the purchasing process in collaboration with the purchasing team.
  • Ensure the smooth operation of the billing department in collaboration with the employees at the various Garaga sites (from the opening process for customers and credit files, through billing to collection).
  • Support the month‑end process (periodic accounting entries and others).
  • Prepare year‑end and period files.
  • Participate in the year‑end audit process and tax audit files.
  • Ensure the maintenance of internal control processes.
  • Coach and develop your team members.

Required qualifications for the position of Team Leader - Accounts Payable and Receivable:

  • Bachelor’s or Technical Diploma in Accounting
  • 10+ years of experience in a similar role and in a central function environment
  • Experience with ERP systems
  • Good ability to adapt
  • Strong leadership and management skills
  • Clear and effective communicator. Team player
  • Bilingual (English and French)
